mara minginui

Description: This project was started in earnest in Oct 09 by the Whanau Support Group employing youth under the Community Max funding to clean up the village, starting with weed and rubbish removal, establishing a community garden, running a Remaculture, then a Biointensive gardening workshop, establishing raised gardens for homes of older people, sitting drivers licences and more. The next stage will involve establishing a traditional Maori Garden at the Kura (School)

Funding was provided by TPK to allow Andy Blick and team to fence off an area in the villade for a community garden.
