3.2.3 Environmental / Sustainability Networks Project Details:

Description:

To connect with international environmental and sustainabilty networks to share wisdom and experiences

  • Present at Sustainable Resources Confernece, Boulder Colorado 30 Sep 04 ( see details)

Outcomes expected:

  • Connected into international network re sustainabilty and environmental restoration practices
  • Kaitiakitanga accepted as a more wholistic way of looking at sustainabilty and life
  • In many little ways people will care more for the environment we pass to our grandchildrens
  • Tipu Ake will be seen seen as an organisational tool for helping organisations become more responsible.
  • The kaitiakitanga program recognised as a role model for safeguarding an international heritage in Whirinaki.
  • Visitors will come to Whirinaki for the special wisdom that is shared here, not just the forest.
  • International people will contribute koha to the program in appreciation of what has been shared with them..
  • Traffic will be driven to each others websites by reciprocal linking to increase sharing (see examples under resources)

Feb 04 Andree Mathieu, writer consultant with The Natural Step, Canada, a volunteer here to research Tipu Ake and Kaitiakitanga. Helped present on Kaitiakitanga videos.
