3.2 Connect with external networks - Project Details:Description: (see project roadmap)
This project is about building networks that allow us to share and learn from others outside our valley. Much of this currently revolves around the "Tipu Ake" Leadership model which is attracting global interest and the second part of this "ki te Ora" is what we are piloting on our Kaitiakitanga program, from which perhaps some new protocols and models for community development may come. Our retreats are already attracting international delegates. Our connections into the global sustainability movement are growing fast as more people begin to understand that the concept of kaitiakitanga and the responsibilities for the future it requires. Our international network allows us to tap into some world experts that may well have things to offer us in our valley. We are hoping in early 2005 to bring over from the USA a person that we met in Boulder who is a world authority on fungal biological restoration and detoxification processes. In any case we believe the many friends we are establishing around the world will open up opportunities and experiences for our children and grandchildren. The following networks each documented in a separate file:
Outcomes expected: see other pages above, but all of them will serve to build a unique niche for Ngati Whare and our community in the global world. Start Date: This will continue to be an ongoing activity Expected Completion: Budget: Our budget spreadsheet lists those items, that have been independently funded or arranged by Strategic Expertise our co -funding partner, so that we were able to commit to present at some important conferences in Europe, Canada, USA and Ca nada.. For further trips, if appropriate, we will try to source funds elsewhere ( eg Ministry of the Environment, NZ Trade and Enterprise, Maori Tourism promotions funding). Nominal Project Leader: Peter Goldsbury has been coordinating this external activity Project Team: Issues Register:

| Please note that this site is under development. It is a prototype to help design its structure, content and navigation. An * in a menu is used to show a future function that is currently not yet available. We are working to establish a multimedia organisation in our community to carry out ongoing development. (Our students at Te Kura Toitu o Te Whaiti Nui-a-Toi were awarded third place in the 2003 NZ school web challenge). feedback please to temporary webmaster: |
