Description: Thanks to DOC for finding funding to allow our iwi and community to construct an information on the Highway 38 turnoff to Whirinaki. Ngati Whare will be responsible for the content of the information presented here. The signage, carvings and other items have yet to be completed This will help us visitors know what our community and the Whirinaki Rainforest Forest has to offer visitors Outcomes expected: An attention attracting structure (when completed) to make travellers on the Waikaremoana road aware what Whirinaki and our community has to offer. This will highlight the need of the Information Centre with the Nursery in the Compound in Minginui as a focal / meeting point. Growth of that partnership developing between DOC and Ngati Whare that will capitalise on the unique natural and cultural wealth of Whirinaki
